On average, the length of a feature length film (U.S., UK, China, India, Korea, Japan, Australia, Germany, Italy, France, Canada, South Africa, Indonesia, and more) is 109 minutes.

Most films are shown at 24 frames per second.

109 minutes x 60 seconds x 24 frames = 156,960 frames in a feature film, on average.

This last week, I saw my 4,500th film, which was “Overlord” (2018) at 110 minutes in length.

This means, on average, so far, throughout my quest to see at least 10,000 feature length films in my lifetime, I’ve viewed 706,320,000 frames (4,500 films x 156,960 frames).

Now, my aim is not to track how many frames viewed in this film journey. It is a fun exercise along the way.

How many frames have you viewed?
